Fabulous! July 29, 2010 Mark Lundquist (29 Palms, CA USA) I already had a first generation Kindle so when my husband bought me a K2 for my birthday I was thrilled. It is just a fabulous device. EVERY reader needs a Kindle! Thank you honey!
Kindle July 29, 2010 D. Getchell This is the best gift I have ever given myself!!! I take it with me everywhere I go---I have never enjoyed reading as much as I do since I have gotten my Kindle!!! The convenience of shopping for books is exceeded by No one also.
I Love Love Love Kindle !!! July 29, 2010 K. Perry (Harpswell, ME) I love the Kindle! As an avid reader and collector of books I never thought I would ever own an electronic reading device, but I do and am so glad of it. I like that it's portable, easy on the eyes unlike backlit screens, and so convenient for storing all of my favorite books. Plus I can afford electronic books better and like that I can save paper. I also love the instant gratification of shopping for a book from the Kindle, clicking a few buttons and wham bam Thank you mam I have a book all ready to read. I went with Kindle over Nook because of the non-glare screen and better track record. But I'm hoping that someday Amazon will follow Barnes and Nobles lead and make it possible for us to borrow/lend books.
Kindle 2 July 29, 2010 Tom Schultz (Richmond, CA, US) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I have used this product daily from 6am to midnight for the past 35 days. Loaded 8 books and read 6. I have only one complaint and it probably comes from my inexperience with the reader. I have lost my place in the book when I utilized other functions such as the dictionary or the home page. Having had to care for a sick relative 2500 miles from home it has been a godsend in keeping my sanity, providing hours of quiet entertainment.
Problem with All Kindles July 29, 2010 Chuck 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
First, I have nothing against the 6 inch kindle now that the price is dropping. In fact I almost bought one, until I started looking at the e-book prices. I thought that $9.99 was a little high, but now I see the prices going up to $14.99. I know that some are lower, but I also see recently published books at $12.99 up to 14.99. I don't know where it will stop, and I do not want to buy a kindle and not use it because of the price of e-books. By buying the physical book at the same or lower price, check Cosco prices. There are also lots of used book stores. I can loan them out or donate them to places that get them to people that do not have good access to books.
It is not the Kindle that gets the low rating, but the ever increasing price of the e-books.
Chuck
