Editorial Reviews:

Product Description
One of Bodum's original coffee press designs from the 1980s, the Bodum Brazil offers a classic take on modern, functional design that will never go out of style. Perfect for extracting your coffee's aromatic oils and subtle flavors, this 8-cup coffee press can hold up to 34 ounces. It features an ultra-light, heat-resistant borosilicate glass beaker, which is both strong and resistant to temperature extremes and dishwasher safe. It's complemented by a polypropylene handle and base and a 3-part stainless steel plunger with a fine mesh filter--allowing the flavor of the coffee to be delivered direct to your cup and not absorbed by a paper filter. The patented safety lid also prevents the splashing of liquids while pressing. All parts are dishwasher safe. To make the perfect pot of French press coffee, add 1 rounded tablespoon of coarsely ground coffee for each 4-ounce cup of water. After pouring boiling water over the coffee, give the grounds a stir with a plastic spoon, then allow your coffee to brew in the press for 4 minutes pressing down on the plunger.

5 out of 5 stars Excellent Coffee   September 7, 2010
Nicholas Shellhaas (Lincoln NE)
I make a lot of coffee in this rad little french press. I keep this guy in my suitcase and use it to make coffee in my hotel room everyday day I'm on the road. It's seen a couple hundred uses and is still going strong. I typically make two batches a day and it's held up well. They are all delicious.

Cleaning: It's really easy to clean. Occasionally I'll have to take the plunger unit apart to get all the crevices clean but this is typical of any french press.

Sturdy: This is a sturdy product. I keep it in my checked bag for each flight and it's stood up the the bag tossers.

Multi Use: I also use it at home to make large batches of tea. It's great.

far better deal than Starbucks! Quick & easy to use. Get yourself an electric kettle and a digital kitchen timer and it's child's play making the best coffee ever.

5 out of 5 stars Great Coffee   August 29, 2010

I received mine about a week ago. It is easy to use, and the coffee is superb.

I liked it so much that I ordered another to give to my brother in law who is a coffee lover also.

I prefer my coffee cold, so after I make a batch, I just put the whole thing in the fridge.

I would recommend this to anyone who likes good coffee.

5 out of 5 stars best coffee press ever   August 22, 2010

We had another Bodum press we got at starbucks that was just the glass beaker that you slid into the metal frame and it broken incredibly easily. Luckily this entire thing can be thrown in the dishwasher and it's not nearly as delicate.
